On this day, May 1, 2007, my mother had a stroke.  She was in a coma for 11 days, and it was assumed by doctors that she wouldn’t survive.

She did.  And she is almost 100% of her former self.  This is a very happy day!!!  :-)

There is progress, and there are setbacks; and I am inspired by both. The ladies have identified goals for their lives, and they are making strides to reach them. I am particularly inspired by one woman who felt a little doubtful about her goal, and felt behind in her tasks, but she had the strength to be a part of the group, anyway. Because she was there, she received lots of encouragement and left feeling better than she came, about steps she’d taken, tasks she had yet to achieve, and about the validity and value of her idea.

I am so excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for these ladies, and I’m honored to be a part of it!
